Theoretico is an interactive history platform at theoretico.io. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Theoretico you agree to the practices described here.

• Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier from Google — only what is needed to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.
• Gameplay data. Your playthrough progress, the choices and free-text you enter during a story, codex unlocks, and souvenirs are stored so your account picks up where you left off.
• Payment information. If you become a member, payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card details — the processor handles that. We retain a record of your subscription status.
• Technical data. Like most websites, we automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and aggregate usage and error data to keep the service running and secure.

• To create your account, authenticate you, and save your progress.
• To generate the narrated story and images that make up your playthrough.
• To process membership payments and manage subscriptions.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
• To respond to you when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to run Theoretico — for hosting, our database, payment processing, and the AI that generates your playthrough. They process data only on our behalf and only to the extent needed to provide the service. Notably, the text you enter during a story is sent to our AI providers to produce the next part of the narrative. We may also disclose information where required by law.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to maintain your session. We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, payment records) by law.

You can sign out at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor these requests.

Theoretico is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the site.
